Abstract Sunday

Rainy Sundays are for doing some housecleaning, reorganizing files, and most importantly, backing up files. In the process, I realized that Cindy doesn't have her own blog entry showcasing her talent for the abstract. It didn't take much searching to find a wealth of shapes, textures, and colors. What a great way to brighten a gloomy, gray day!

New Link to the Slideshow

The "Great Beach Trip of '09" slideshow has been moved to its own page. Please find the show (here). The show was slowing down the blog a bit too much and deserved a page of its own!

Project Updates

While this little blog has been suffering from neglect of late, I have been busy shooting every day. I mean EVERY DAY! As of June 21, I have taken and posted at least 1 photo for 52 straight days. So far it has been a very rewarding and sometimes frustrating experience. I plan on continuing the photo a day ride for as long as I am able. Please click on the links to go to the monthly projects:

The Extraordinaires

This past weekend I had the great pleasure watching and listening to the terrific classics/rhythm and blues band, The Extraordinaires. They were performing as the headliners at Newton's Mayfest, and did not dissapoint! Two hours filled with tunes ranging from the Drifters to Bob Seager. Take a look at the link to their web page in the "People We Like Section" for more on this fabulous group of musicians!

I apologize for most of the black and white images. The band was performing under a bright red canopy. While this was very coloful and great in person, it played havoc in camera on skin tones!

Young Guns

During our last visit, Connor and Caroline decided that they wanted to be on the other end of the camera. They took turns and got some great shots of whatever caught their eye. Kids, y'all did a great job!!!

Asheville

I'm finally getting around to posting the images from our trip to Asheville last weekend. Dawn on Beaver Lake, WNC Nature Center, and downtown provided a wide variety from a normally very diverse and interesting city.
